The Chaco Z/1 Classic offers class-leading support, durability and repairability
Zappos
We’ve reviewed plenty of hiking sandals and consistently find that Chaco makes some of the best in the business.
The Chaco Z/1 Classic is one of the company’s most iconic models, which we’ve compared head-to-head with one of the most iconic hiking sandals ever made, the Teva Hurricane XLT2.
Our conclusion? The Chaco Z/1 is a better overall hiking shoe because it provides more support, has a grippier outsole, and ditches velcro. It’s also easily repaired if the sole or straps wear out. The only catch is that the Z/1 typically sells for close to double the price of the Teva.
Currently, though, Amazon is selling the basic black version in various sizes for half-off or more, making this one of the most obvious deal recommendation in a long time.
