REI Co-op is expanding its adventure travel offerings with new trips and a land purchase near the Grand Canyon to build one of its signature camps. The brand says both developments are to meet the growing demands for small group adventure travel in popular North American destinations, like U.S. national parks in the Northwest and Southwest. New tour destinations include Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness and Tennessee’s Cumberland Plateau.

Today we’re featuring a rechargeable headlamp, Teva’s anniversary and new cast iron cookware. This is Today in Gear.

Buff

National Parks by BUFF

Fun and fresh: Wear your favorite national park around your neck with BUFF’s latest collection of CoolNet UV® neckwear (from $24). The collection includes designs by Gretchen Leggitt for seven popular U.S. national parks: Zion, Yosemite, Rocky Mountain, Glacier, Grand Teton, Grand Canyon and Yellowstone.

Teva

Teva Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary

In case you missed it: Teva was founded in 1984 when a river guide was in search of a solution to prevent shoes from floating away in the Grand Canyon. To celebrate its anniversary, the beloved shoe company is launching a four-part collection, one for each decade of its brand history. So far the ’80s and ’90s Revive collections have launched with the ’00s and ’10s coming in May and June. March’s release includes the Hurricane XLT2 Revive ($75) and Original Alp Revive ($60) in fresh new takes.

Le Creuset

Le Creuset Enters the Outdoor Market

New and noteworthy: This month, the French cookware brand released its first-ever outdoor collection using its signature enameled cast iron, now made for an open flame. The Alpine Outdoor Collection (from $160) includes a skillet, grill basket and pizza pan to use at the campground or an outdoor kitchen.

Rad Power Bike

A New Industry-Leading Battery for eBikes

Upgraded: If you’re in the market for an eBike, check out Rad Power Bikes’s four new models (from $1,899), equipped with a Safe Shield™ Battery that uses thermal resistant technology. The new battery is designed to be much safer than current eBike batteries and reduces the risk of overheating. There are two models in the new Roadster lineup, a trail eBike and a road eBike; the RadWagon 5 received a complete redesign to handle more cargo weight and the folding RadExpand 5 Plus also got an upgrade. These new models are available to order with an expected ship date in mid-April.

Fenix

An Improved Rechargeable Headlamp

Adventure ready: Meet the new and improved Fenix HM65R-T V2.0 ($137; on sale for $105), a rechargeable headlamp with a new, larger headband. Other improvements include refinements to the rotary adjustment dial for more control and a built-in emergency whistle. Choose between warm or cool light depending on your environment and never worry about running out of battery thanks to the charge indicator — although the battery can last for up to 300 hours on the lowest setting.
