March is Women’s History Month, so we’re featuring female-founded brands and female-centric products as much as possible this month to celebrate. According to the National Women’s Business Council (NWBC), there are 14 million women-owned businesses in the U.S. (or 39 percent of all U.S. businesses), which is a nearly 13 percent increase from 2019 — let’s help propel this growth further. Fun fact: We would need to write 2.8 million Today in Gear posts if we were to feature each one.

Today we’re featuring a long-lasting, solar-powered speaker, cold brew jugs and a new rice cooker. This is Today in Gear.

Bring Your Tunes Along With Solgaard

Summer must-have: Solgaard just launched the Solar Boombox ($225), designed to be a tiny-but-mighty, go-anywhere Bluetooth speaker. With more than 80 hours of playback, and solar panels to help top up the power for even longer, you can take the lightweight boombox with you anywhere. Plus, the speaker also functions as a power bank and can charge up to three devices at once. Get party-ready with the Solgaard Solar Boombox.

Plant-Based Cold Brew Now In a Jug

Testing notes: If you’re a fan of enjoying your cold brew at home, then you’ll be stoked about Pop & Bottle’s newest product, 48-ounce jugs ($7) of its light roast, medium roast and vanilla flavors. The female-founded brand uses clean ingredients, like dates, as a natural sweetener. The new offering is available at select Target stores through May 6 with a nationwide rollout to follow at other retailers.

A New Touchless Faucet

New and noteworthy: Straight from the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show that wrapped last week is a new faucet from Delta, Touch2O® with Touchless™ Technology (from $598). To turn on water flow, all you have to do is place your hand near the faucet, or tap the faucet. The latest models also come with a TempSense® Indicator that shows the water temperature with blue to red coloring.

Paris Rhône

A Smart-Controlled Baby Monitor

In case you missed it: Paris Rhone, which makes home tech products and appliances like air purifiers, space heaters and more, just released a 2K-resolution baby monitor ($160, on sale for $100) to help ensure your baby’s safety when you’re in another room. The camera has split-screen viewing, advanced sound and motion tracking, night vision and smart app control for even more peace of mind.

A New Grain and Rice Cooker From a Major Player

Just launched: With the Grain and Rice Cooker ($300) KitchenAid has stepped into a new category, and the brand pulled out all the stops for this new product. It has 21 presets for different rice, grains and beans and will automatically add the correct amount of water for cooking thanks to the integrated scale. You can even delay cooking for up to 24 hours, making meal prep a breeze.
