Today we’re taking a look at groovy luggage, a new Rivian and some cool shoes. This is Today in Gear.

Buck Mason

A Cool Collab With Buck Mason and Moonstar

Just dropped: The L.A. brand Buck Mason dropped a limited-edition collaboration with Japanese footwear brand Moonstar. The result is the Herringbone Moonstar Deck Shoe ($158), which is inspired by a classic, youthful silhouette. These California-cool shoes are made in Kurume, Japan, and available in four colors: vintage olive, black, vintage navy and seeded natural.

Snow Peak

Snow Peak’s Latest Apparel Collection

New and noteworthy: New from Snow Peak is a fresh collection that’s designed to merge technical materials with classic outdoor style. Standouts include the Flexible Insulated Shirt ($205), a lightweight quilted shirt jacket made of recycled polyester and finished with a water-repellent coating. The Takibi Weather Cloth Jacket ($460) is a workwear-style jacket with a full zipper, lots of pockets and made from a fire-resistant material.

Away

Check Out the Soundwave Collection From Away

Fun and fresh: We all know — and love — Away’s sleek collection of luggage. For the limited-edition Soundwave collection, the brand introduced glossy luggage with a bright, neon design “inspired by music and travel.” The multi-color Soundwave graphic is available in The Bigger Carry-On ($315) and the The Medium ($365). These suitcases are equipped with four smooth-gliding wheels, TSA-approved combination locks and interior mesh pockets for easy organization.

Rivian

Meet the New Rivian R2 (and R3!)

In case you missed it: Rivian just announced its new electric vehicle, which follows the company’s existing models, the popular R1T and R1S. Reservations for the R2 (from $45,000) can be made now and the vehicle is expected to be released in 2026. The R2 has an estimated range north of 300 miles, can go from 0-60 mph in 3 seconds and seats five passengers.
