Ever dreamed of living on another planet? Well, four lucky people will now get the chance — sort of. NASA invited four people to spend 378 days as Martian colonists, except that they’ll be doing so inside a 1,700-square-foot warehouse at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. One potential problem the organization wants to study is the trauma of isolation. Is it possible to survive the harsh conditions of Mars while reckoning with the very real human condition of being lonely?

Today we’re taking a look at new watch straps, fleeces and a money clip. This is Today in Gear.

Oyster

A Hot and Cold Cooler

It’s a standout: You can think of the Oyster Tempo ($605, on sale for $500) two ways: as a very large insulated tumbler, or a lightweight cooler. What that means is, the Tempo’s double-wall vacuum insulation can keep items cool — or hot — for longer. Imagine getting back to your car after a day of skiing and pulling out hot soup and cocoa. A total dream!

LifeStraw

New LifeStraw Colors

Fun and fresh: LifeStaw’s pocket-size Peak Solo Filter ($30) now comes in a suite of fun, bright colors to get you ready for spring and summer adventures. The filter is ultralight (weighing just 1.7 ounces), can screw onto most standard water bottles and protects against bacteria like E.coli and salmonella, and parasites like Giardia. The new colors are limeade, blue, pink lemonade and blue raspberry.

The James Brand

A Slick Money Clip

You have our attention: The Martindale ($129) is the first ever money clip from the James Brand. Fans have been requesting a money clip for a long time, and the Martindale was designed with the brand’s special ability to blend function with a minimalist aesthetic. It’s made of single billet titanium and doesn’t have any moving parts. For the times when you don’t need to cart around your entire wallet, a money clip is the perfect way to carry currency.

Garmin

New Nylon Watch Straps

Just launched: Garmin just released new colors in its 22mm UltraFit nylon watch strap ($40). The strap is made to pair with any Garmin smartwatch and made of rugged nylon for durability. The three new colors — flame red, granite blue and moss — are available now.

Huckberry

Huckberry Trumbull

New and noteworthy: Huckberry just launched a new Trumbull fleece collection. The Trumbull line was created in collaboration with menswear designer Aaron Levine (the force behind reviving Club Monaco and Abercrombie & Fitch). The Vintage Wash Pullover Sweatshirt ($148) is a super-soft garment-dyed pullover fleece that’s made in three neutral colors: ivory, kelp and vintage black.
