A Daily roundup of all the latest product announcements, drops and news from Gear Patrol Studios.

Today in Gear is our daily roundup of the latest product announcements, drops and news from Gear Patrol Studios. Please direct pitches, tips and questions to tig@gearpatrol.com.

Like a Rorschach test, this issue’s product finds prove that we’ve got outdoor entertaining and hanging out with friends entirely on the brain right now, plus visions of extending our runs to take full advantage of longer and warmer spring days. Our conclusion? We’re not concerned about our mental health in 2024 in the slightest.

This Energy Drink Is Carbonated, Caffeinated, and Cannabis-Infused

Energy drinks have become a mainstay of the night-out scene for obvious reasons. So, it’s no surprise that caffeine has now found its way into cannabis-infused beverages, too. If you’re looking for a bright and fun buzz without the downsides of alcohol, look no further than COUNTDOWN™ Energy — each 12 oz. can packs 10mg of cannabis and 100mg of caffeine.

The best part? In celebration of 4/20, COUNTDOWN Energy is offering a deal on its Launch Pack, which includes one four-pack of each of the brand’s three flavors, for a total of 12 cans. Use the exclusive code LAUNCH420 at checkout.

Ooni

Ooni’s Koda 2 Solves Our Main Beef

Ooni may have just solved our biggest issue with pizza ovens. The brand’s new outdoor pizza oven, the gas-only Koda 2 Max, has an extra-large 24-inch cooking surface that can cook a giant New York-style pizza or a pair of Neapolitan pies at the same time. It goes on sale this May.

IKEA

Did IKEA Just Quietly Modernize a Classic Chair Design?

This chair in IKEA’s newly unveiled BRÄNNBOLL collection grabbed our attention. It looks like an excellent small accent chair option for specific aesthetics, which there aren’t a lot of. More interestingly, its cable system allows the chair to move and bounce like a rocking chair.

Hatozaki

Whiskey Is Now Globalized Beyond All Recognition.

The newly released Omakase Rye from Hatozaki Whisky shows how the insane demand for whisky is reshaping what’s on liquor store shelves. Two different ryes sourced from the U.S. were shipped to Japan, blended, and then aged in Mizunara Oak barrels. The final result was then bottled and shipped back to us as a U.S. exclusive release.

Nike

Nike’s Revealed Its Latest Trusted Running Workhorse

Details on the next-generation Nike Pegasus 41 just broke cover. By the early looks of it, new updates to our best daily trainer for beginner picks and one of Runner’s World’s best overall running shoe picks add a slew of technical chops that may help the shoe catch the eye of more advanced runners, too.

The most significant change is that Nike’s ReactX foam, initially announced in July of 2023, has finally made its way to the company’s bread-and-butter running shoe.
